Reading group – Canons of the Church of England

April 21, 2020

The reading group is now full, and cannot at present take any more participants. Watch this space for future plans.

The Ecclesiastical Law Society is convening an online reading group studying the Canons of the Church of England. This will take place fortnightly on Monday evenings 8-9pm beginning on 4 May. The group will meet by Zoom, and is open to all on a first-come first-served basis– but numbers may have to be capped to ensure a workable number for a reading group. The method envisaged is that we will read and discuss each canon, in order. The group will be convened by the Revd Russell Dewhurst, chair of our communications committee, but it is intended that all participants will share their insights. While the discussion will focus primarily on the legal implications, we hope also to encompass matters historical and theological.

Please contact Russell Dewhurst on communications@ecclawsoc.org.uk to sign up.
