Geoffrey Tattersall KC

The Society was sad to receive news of the death on 5th January 2025 of Geoffrey Tattersall KC at the age of 77. Geoffrey was a distinguished Chancellor of Manchester, and Carlisle, and Vicar-General of Sodor and Man. He was a chair of clergy discipline tribunals and a member of the Society’s Working Party on Clergy Discipline, much of whose work was incorporated in the Clergy Conduct Measure, which is due to receive final approval in February, having been through a Revision Committee chaired by him. Geoffrey was a valued and loved member of Synod, chairing many difficult long debates. We send our love and prayers to Hazel and his family. May he rest in peace.
