Five Faculty Cases from the City

January 11, 2018

The Society’s first London Lecture of 2018 was delivered by Philip Petchey, Chancellor of the Diocese of Southwark, on 10 January, to a full lecture room at Winckworth Sherwood. The illustrated lecture examined in detail five important faculty cases, all from churches within the City: St Magnus the Martyr; St Mary at Hill; St Helen’s, Bishopsgate; St Stephen’s, Walbrook; and St Mary-le-Bow. The speaker drew from these significant faculty cases important lessons that continue to be of relevance to the ordering of churches.
